Facilities Management : College Vehicles

Reservations
Reserve your vehicles as far in advance as possible, you can make the reservation by contacting Facilities Management at 7308. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. We have cars and vans in the fleet. Please cancel your reservation if the vehicle is not needed, or your account will be charged $15.

You must be an authorized driver to be able to use fleet vehicles. Please see college driver policy.

Keys may be picked up at the Facilities Management Office between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you are using a vehicle on the weekend, be sure to pick up the keys by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Students
Student organizations must have the form from Student Development filled out and signed by Student Development before Facilities Management will issue you keys.

Student use of college vehicles is limited to a radius for 20 miles around the campus unless a regular faculty or staff member is in the vehicle.

Fees
The charges for vehicles are as follows: The first day is $15 and includes 30 miles, if you go over allotted miles cars are billed at 30 cents a mile and vans are 45 cents. For each consecutive day of the reservation it is $30 and includes 75 miles and the same overage charges apply to mileage.

The vehicles should be full of gas when you pick them up (please note on mileage slip if they aren't) and full when you return them or your account will be charged a $30 fee and the cost of the gas to fill it up.

If a vehicle is left in state that it needs to be cleaned after your use, a $25.00 cleaning fee will be charged to your account.

K College Bus
Trips should be booked at least 5 working days in advance. Bus trip charges are as follows:

Weekday rate

  • $50 per hour for first 5 hours(two hour minimum)
  • $30 per hour after
  • At 8 hours; hourly rate plus $1.15 per mile for the entire trip

Weekend rate

  • $60 per hour for first 5 hours (two hour minimum)
  • $35 per hour after
  • At 8 hours; hourly rate plus $1.15 per mile for the entire trip
If trip starts and ends during normal working hours (Monday through Friday from 7 am until 3:00 pm):
  • $30 per hour during working hours
  • After 3:00, $60 per hour
  • At 8 hours; hourly rate plus $1.15 per mile for the entire trip
Note – trip begins when bus leaves Facilities Management and ends when bus is parked.

Traffic Violations and Accidents
Each department is responsible for any traffic violations incurred while using the vehicle. All accidents with a college vehicle must be reported to the police. Please give the police report to Facilities Management. There is a $500 deductible on the college's insurance, the department/organization will be charged for the deductible.

The use of a college vehicle can be denied or cancelled in the event of adverse weather and/or unsafe road conditions.
