Bio:
I joined the Department in 2004 and am currently the Chair of the Department (since 2007). Originally from Sweden, I received a B.A. in International Business from Ohio Wesleyan University (1993) and my Masters and Ph.D. degrees in International Economics from Rice University (1998). Prior to Kalamazoo College, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming (1998-2004) and I have taught courses at Rice University, the Ministry of Economics Affairs in Taiwan, and Sung Kyun Kwan University, South Korea.
Since arriving at K, I have taught courses in Principles of Microeconomics, International Business, Multinational Finance, International Trade, and various Senior Seminar courses. I have really enjoyed teaching at K and getting to know the excellent students here. In my classes we study economics and business topics while trying to have fun. I have published several articles in the areas of economic growth and international trade (trade agreements). I am also a part owner of a small publishing company in Sweden.
I have traveled six continents and 23 countries (as far I can remember). I enjoy a competitive game of tennis whenever possible, but I spend most of my leisure time hanging out with my two sons and reading (usually about how economics can explain the world or how to get people to do what I want them to do). |
