Discussion

The plight of the City of Kalamazoo was a concern among over a quarter of the respondents. Some feel a connection with the city best described by a small town resident who said "We often criticize the city of Kalamazoo, and perhaps don't feel a part of it, but we don't often think about the amount of services that we get from the city of Kalamazoo either that are basically not supported by anybody's taxes but their own. For example, the hospitals are located in their districts, Western Michigan University is located in their district."
