Land Division Act (passed as law)
(An amendment to the Land Division Act of 1996)In 1968, the Subdivision Control Act replaced the Plat Act of of 1929. More recently, in 1996, the Land Division Act replaced the Subdivision Control Act. This updated act changed how land was divided.

Planning Act as of March 29, 2001
The Michigan Society of Planning summarized the proposed act while giving
a brief history of the related past public acts. Four of Michigan's planning
acts, involving cities, townships, villages and counties, date back to 1931.
The goal of this act is to amend the 1931 act, and have a unified cooperative
act, while preserving local government rights.
