Description: Sisters of St. Joseph, wonderful retreat center

Why it should be preserved: The land had been used for many years as a health, education, and recreation area. There is a lot of history in the area. It is a religious place and an excellent area for spiritual retreats and community use. The sisters of St. Joseph purchased the tract of land on Gull Road and opened a secondary school for girls in 1897. The four year college began in 1924.
