Klienstock

(Oakland, Bronson Blvd., Maple Street, Edgemoor, and Chevy Chase)

Description: Natural setting for people to hike, walk, and run – it provides many opportunities to view nature.  There are woods and a pond.

Why it should be preserved: For the reasons listed above.  This site is a historical stopover point for significant numbers of migratory birds and provides an excellent opportunity for public bird watching.  It is also an important spring bird census site for 30 years, providing much data.  It contains a large bald cypress tree and wildlife preserve.  It can be used for recreational use, a buffer within a residential area, and as a nature preserve.

Other comments: Care should be taken to minimize invasion by non-native species, e.g. Garlic mustard
