10^th Street Prairie

(Just north of the Kal-Haven trail)

Description: It may belong to the Audubon society with the adjoining woods. It contains several acres of native prairie plants (i.e. not a reconstructed area).

Why it should be preserved: It is the only place in the area one can walk through unbroken 8” high big bluestem prairie.
