Pre-Departure Inventory/Packing List
The CIP strongly recommends students talk with past participants, international students from the host country, and consult with the "K" guidebook information. In addition, students should check with their airline carrier regarding weight limits for baggage.

Essentials you must take with you

  • Passport
  • Credit Card and ATM Card
  • Tickets
  • Photocopies of all Documents, Prescriptions, etc.
  • Traveler’s Checks (if applicable)
  • This Handbook and your Cultural Guidebook (where available)
  • Traveler’s Check Counterfoils (carried separately from checks)
  • Prescription Medicines

  • International Student Identity Card* (ISIC)

* The Center for International Programs recommends that students in most European programs purchase the International Student Identity Card. Non-cardholders may incur additional costs on some excursions. The card can be purchased through the Center for International Programs. You can pick up an application form in the Center for International Programs, and return it to us with a check made payable to Kalamazoo College in the amount specified. We will use one of your photographs for the card.
