Kalamazoo College has been ranked #1 for its study abroad program in US News & World Report 2003 Edition America's Best Colleges. The Report lists its criteria for choosing best colleges in this category because "these programs involve substantial academic work - a year or a semester or an intensive experience equal to a course - and a considerable interaction between the student and the culture"
