The Basics
Kalamazoo College has a strong, historical commitment to
experiential education. Experiential learning is “learning-by-doing.”
Internships provide a framework and venues for this learning
within a real world context and have been recognized as a
vital component of the ‘K’ Plan. The College’s
commitment to internships is demonstrated by officially recognizing
CD internship experiences on your academic transcript.
A CD Internship is an opportunity to spend a minimum of 240
hours over the course of at least 8 weeks in an organization
of interest to you. The Center for Career Development designed
the CD Internship Program to assist you in exploring career
choices by providing you a structure to create, experience,
and integrate a valuable pre-professional experience as part
of your college education. To assist you with achieving these
goals, the CD Internship Program components address the following
aspects of a rewarding internship experience. |
