Young Vocalists Concert

Sunday, May 11        7:00 p.m.     Stetson Chapel, Kalamazoo College             FREE

            Winners in the High School and College Divisions of the Bach Festival Young Vocalists Competition will perform and receive their prizes.

 

Bach-Around-the-Block Organ Crawl

Monday, May 12        7:00 p.m.            Beginning at St. Augustine Cathedral                     FREE

            Audience walks from church to church to hear the music of J.S. Bach and his son, J.C. Bach, played on the magnificent organs of downtown Kalamazoo churches.  This event is co-sponsored by the American Guild of Organists, Southwest Michigan Chapter.

 

Bach Legacy Lecture:  The Mightiest of Masses

Thursday, May 15        8:00 p.m.     Stetson Chapel, Kalamazoo College             FREE

            Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra Maestro Raymond Harvey will discuss the B Minor Mass in anticipation of the Bach Festival performance on Saturday, May 17. 

 

Bach Festival Finale Concert:  B Minor Mass, J.S. Bach

            Bach’s most monumental choral work, the B Minor Mass, performed in the majestic Cathedral of Saint Augustine.  The Bach Festival Chorus, orchestra, and professional soloists, under the direction of Conductor James Turner, combine to make this long-awaited event truly inspiring.
