Marc Keane Mr. Keane is a leading expert in Japanese landscape gardens and their aesthetics. It is rare for him to be in the U.S. We are inviting him, together with the U. of M. and the Japan America Society of Detroit. This is a rare treat for us.

Jennifer Robertson Professor Robertson's Current research is on the Japanese eugenics movement. She has in this connection, published on the Miss Nippon contests of 1931 and 1934 (at which Takarazuka provided entertainment!), and also on the debates between the "pure-blood" and "mixed blood" advocates with respect to marriage politics during the period of imperialism and colonization. She has lots of pictures (slides) as usual.
