Lillian Anderson Arboretum :  WDYS?

What did you see?

Be our eyes and ears. Tell us what you saw (or heard) on your trip to the Arboretum.

We'd like to hear about anything that caught your eye. The first trillium. The last hummingbird. Coyote poop on the trails. Perhaps you can solve some of our mysteries. For example, our director thinks he saw a goshawk near Batts Pond last fall. Since he hardly knows a goshawk from a gray owl, the experts are somewhat sceptical. Can anybody settle this?

We'll publish your observations in our Almanac feature. We plan to have a section for each month so we can track the changes from year to year. Let us know if you want us to use your email address. We can use the screen name without the domain name, or your actual name, or initials, or a 'handle' of your choosing. You decide.

Of course, our students and faculty members are constantly monitoring certain aspects of the Arboretum's ecology and natural history, but they're so few and there's so much going on that we could really use your help.

Next time you visit the Arboretum, bring your notebook. When you get home, click the button below to email us your info. If you're a keen birder or naturalist and have lists of observations from previous years we'd love to see those too.
