Centennial Burning!

Damp, gray winter days may not be good for much else but they're perfect for outdoor burning. On Saturday, the 7th of January, Professor Kim Cummings led a crew of pyrophiles to the Centennial Grove to burn off mounds of accumulated brush. Over the course of the day some 15 hardy souls contributed. Kim provided bagels and hot Dinty Moore stew. It quickly became clear that the human urge to burn runs very deep and the excercise provided great entertainment for the participants as well as advancing the development of the Grove (see earlier story). There's more brush and further burning days are planned. Stay tuned.
