Q: Where should I park when I arrive on campus?
A: For your convenience during Homecoming Weekend 2008, all faculty, staff, and student parking lots will be available for parking without a special permit. You are also invited to use street parking on campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Follow posted parking restrictions for street parking, which is controlled by the City of Kalamazoo. Q: What is the College's alcohol policy?
A:
Alcohol is not permitted in any dormitory buildings, the library or the dining hall. Alcohol is also not allowed at athletic fields and facilities per NCAA, MIAA and Kalamazoo College policies. Please help ensure that the game is fun, spirited, and compliant with NCAA and MIAA policies.Alcohol may be consumed in other campus buildings pending approval from College administrators. Additionally, it is illegal for any informal reunion event on campus involving alcohol to carry a monetary fee. Kalamazoo College's alcohol policy is consistent with state law regarding alcoholic beverages and its commitment to helping students be responsible adults. Q: What should I wear during Homecoming Weekend?
A: Michigan weather is always unpredictable, so come prepared! For most of the weekend, casual dress is appropriate, although many alumni prefer to dress up for their class reunion dinners. Orange and black and other "spirit wear" is always encouraged!

Q: How do I register for Homecoming events?
A: Secure, online registration is now available online at this link, and a registration brochure will be mailed to reunion year alumni in mid-September. Mastercard, Visa, cash, and checks made out to Kalamazoo College are accepted for all events that carry a fee. Most Homecoming events are complimentary.

Q: The campus has changed since I was a student! How can I find my way around and visit the new buildings on campus?
A: Guests are invited to tour campus with a K-Crew student tour guide throughout the day on Saturday, October 25. Highlights will include the new Weimer K. Hicks Student Center and the Upjohn Library Commons. Visit the Homecoming schedule for tour times and locations. Self-guided tours are also encouraged, and campus maps will be available at the registration table in the Upjohn Library Commons lobby during Homecoming Weekend. Q: What lodging opportunities are available during Homecoming Weekend?
A: For your convenience, Kalamazoo College has reserved blocks of rooms at reduced rates at several area hotels. Click here for a list of area hotels with Kalamazoo College room blocks. For a complete listing of accommodations in the Kalamazoo area, please visit this site from the City of Kalamazoo. This site also includes information on area restaurants.

Q: Where can I find a local babysitter?
A: Due to liability concerns, Kalamazoo College does not provide a list of available babysitters for Homecoming Weekend. However, guests who would like more information on hiring a "K" student to babysit may contact the Center for Career Development at 269-337-7183.

Q: I have mobility concerns. What is the best way to get around campus?
A: Most campus buildings where Homecoming events will be hosted are fully handicap-accessible. Due to the various hills and steps on campus, it helps to know how to best access these buildings, and you may click here for a complete list of campus building accessibility and suggested parking during Homecoming Weekend. The Radisson Plaza Hotel, location of the class reunion dinners, is fully handicap-accessible and offers valet parking.

Q: What do I do if I have a food allergy and would like to attend the Homecoming luncheon or my reunion dinner?
A:

Q: How do I find out who else from my class is attending my reunion?
A:
Once registration is open, a "Who's Coming" list will be posted online for each reunion class. The lists will be updated daily, so check back often for updates!

Q: Is there somewhere on campus to shower after the 5K?
A:
5K participants who would like to shower on campus are invited to use the locker rooms in Anderson Athletic Center. Please bring your own towel and sundries, and don't forget shower shoes!

Q: What should I do if I have an emergency or safety issue during Homecoming Weekend?
A:
We want you to have a safe and enjoyable Homecoming Weekend. Kalamazoo College operates its own non-deputized security program. Security personnel regularly patrol the campus 24 hours a day. Security will respond to all requests for service and attend to situations around the campus that affect the security of residents and visitors. You will note increased exterior lighting , added outdoor emergency phones and trimmed shrubbery to make Kalamazoo College safer, and your weekend more enjoyable. Q: I'm bringing my child who is interested in attending Kalamazoo College. Can I arrange a meeting with Admission during my visit?
A: Guests are welcome to contact the Admission Office to set up a visit for prospective students! Visit the Admission website or call 269-337-7166 to speak with an Admission staff member.
