Winter Quarter

And so Winter Quarter begins! After having had seven weeks off to spend with family, travel, work and prepare for this quarter, 8:30 classes, friendly faces from all over the globe and cold Michigan weather has finally come back to flood the streets of Academy. This quarter Iʼll be taking Art History, Sculpture, Spanish 102 and Iʼll be overloading with a Critical Theory Colloquium. Iʼm really excited for what this term will bring – all sort of new friends, knowledge and opportunities Iʼm sure! Itʼs pretty easy to stay positive in Kalamazoo during the winter months – the school provides so many discussions, opportunities to get off campus (Kalamazoo Outing Club is leading a skiing trip this weekend!), and even the students have taken initiative to lead a school-wide scavenger hunt (activities including like going to Lake Michigan, have a Star Wars marathon, complete the Friday NY Times crossword puzzle, and many more)!

About Courtney Wise ʼ15

Courtney Wise is from Cary, IL (a northwest suburb of Chicago) and is a sophomore at K. She is tentatively majoring in Art or Philosophy and ridiculously involved on campus! She''s an active member of Farms-2-K, MiRA, Kalamazoo Outing Club (KOC), Student Commission, and Cross-Country, just to name a few. She enjoys puns, drawing, stimulating conversations (which happen a lot here!), and Scattergories.
