Overnight Visiting FAQ

What should I bring?
Overnight guests will need to bring a pillow, sleeping bag, and towel, as well as any personal items and toiletries. Please bring some reading or your own schoolwork, as your host may have to spend some time studying. We will provide meal tickets for the duration of your stay.

Where do I meet my host?
If you are meeting your host when the Office of Admission is open (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.), then your host will meet you in the Office of Admission, located in Mandelle Hall.
If you are arriving after hours or on the weekend, you should check-in at the Upjohn Library circulation desk (building #25 on the campus map). The staff member at the circulation desk will call your host to come meet you.

Where can I park overnight?
Parking for visiting students is available in the designated spaces in the Light Fine Arts Building parking lot off Thompson Street. Overnight guests MUST leave their cars in this lot. Please request a parking permit from the Office of Admission, or, if you are arriving when the Office of Admission is closed, pick up a parking permit from the Upjohn Library circulation desk. *Parking on the street overnight will result in a city parking ticket*

Are overnight accommodations available for my parents/siblings/guests?
Overnight accommodations are only available for prospective students who register for an overnight visit. We are unable to provide overnight accommodations for parents, siblings, or other guests. Please refer to your campus visit confirmation email for a list of local hotels.

What if I am delayed or need to cancel my overnight visit?
If you need to change your visit plans when the Office of Admission is open, please call 800-253-3602. If it is after hours or on the weekend, please contact the Upjohn Library circulation desk at 269-337-7153.

Is there any paperwork that I need to complete for my overnight stay?
Yes! The Visit Policy & Release Form included in the confirmation email MUST be signed and returned to the Admission Office no later than four business days prior to the date of your scheduled overnight. No student will be allowed to spend the night on campus without this form on file. Please also note that visiting students are considered members of the Kalamazoo College community for the duration of their stay and are bound by the rules and regulations of the College Student Code of Conduct.

If you have any other questions, please contact the Office of Admission at 800-253-3602.
