Samantha Choknumtumnukit – Admission Counselor

Samantha Choknumtumnukit joins the Office of Admission after graduating from Kalamazoo College in 2019 with a B.A. in Business with a concentration in Women, Gender and Sexuality. Although she originally decided to come to K because her favorite color is orange, she quickly grew to love various aspects about the College and her experiences as a student, leading her down the path of admissions as an intern for the office her senior year. In her free time, she enjoys making pizza, eating pizza, and finding new ways to justify her pizza habits.

Hometown: Harwood Heights, IL

Favorite Food: Pizza (a fan of classic pizza and thin crust, but will essentially eat any pizza)

When you visit Kalamazoo, you must: Walk downtown! The downtown is not too big, has a lot of little shops, and tons of great food options, it is definitely worth it to take time and stroll.

Favorite question from a prospective student: “Why did YOU go to K?” It reminds me of my own wild journey to college and allows me to connect directly to their experience.

Favorite college memory: Model U.N. conferences, or any time I spent in K’s Model U.N. team. I meet so many of my friends through this club, lead the organization twice, and really learned to embrace my inner nerd.

Advice for prospective students: Visit colleges. You can read about a college all day long, but being on their campus and imagining yourself there often brings clarity, especially if you are having a difficult time choosing or considering multiple.
