After spending her childhood in New Orleans, Denver, and Houston, Jessica Fowle first came to Kalamazoo as an incoming Kalamazoo College student and has made the city her hometown. One of the co-founders of the Frelon Dance Company (which still performs on campus every spring quarter), Jessica began working in the Office of Admission shortly after graduating from K in 2000 with a B.A. in English. Jessica is a board member of the Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling (MACAC) and serves on its Government Relations Committee and its Detroit National College Fair Committee. In her free time, she enjoys running and gardening as well as spending time in Northern Michigan with her husband and three kids.
Favorite college memory: “All of the times that my roommates and I stayed up late having deep conversations or just being silly. It’s such a rare and wonderful thing to be able to live with your best friends!”
What makes Kalamazoo College Zoonique? “The complete integration of all the pieces of the K-Plan into the student experience across all academic disciplines.”
Advice for prospective students: “Take a deep breath! Don’t be afraid to look at a school you have never heard of—it might be the right place for you. Visit campus, and try to spend some unstructured alone time during that visit to get a sense of what it will feel like to be on campus without the accompaniment of parents or a tour group.”
