All international students must verify English proficiency at the time of application to Kalamazoo College. Use one or more of the methods below to document English proficiency.
- Computer-based TOEFL exam: A recommended score of 213 or higher
- Paper-based TOEFL exam: A recommended score of 550 or higher
- Internet-based TOEFL exam (iBT): A recommended score of 80 or higher.
A recommended verbal score of 600 or higher for students taking the SAT I
A recommended score of 7 or higher.
If an applicant is originally from an English speaking country (see below) and the primary language of instruction is English.
Applicants for whom English is a second language but have attended a secondary school in an English speaking country (see below) for at least two years.
Applicants who have completed or are pursuing a full IB diploma and are taking English A1 or English A2 and have a predicted grade of 5 or higher.
